Modelling Modelled
نویسنده
چکیده
A model is one of the most fundamental concepts: it is a formal and generalized explanation of a phenomenon. Only with models can we bridge the particulars and predict the unknown. Virtually all our intellectual work turns around finding models, evaluating models, using models. Because models are so pervasive, it makes sense to take a look at modelling itself. We will approach this problem, of course, by building a model of the process of modelling.

Biokinetic modelling of 89-Zr-labelled monoclonal antibodies for dosimetry assessment in humans
Background: Monoclonal antibodies have confirmed their merit as biotherapeutics across a wide spectrum of diseases, including cancer, heart disease, infection, and immune disorders. Materials and Methods: The dynamics of 89Zr-labelled monoclonal antibodies (MAb) after injection into the human body are modelled. This modified biokinetic model can be used for dose assessment not only for 89Zr-lab...
متن کاملBlast Mitigation Analysis of Semi-Buried Structure
Semi-buried structures are most commonly used at first line of defense along the border between two countries. This demands investigation of their dynamic behaviour under blast loading. Herein, a semi-buried structure with foam sandwiched walls and buttresses to reduce the effect of blast is analysed. The effect of provision of different configurations of buttresses and foam core between two la...
متن کاملA Novel Integrated Approach to Modelling of Depletion-Induced Change in Full Permeability Tensor of Naturally Fractured Reservoirs
More than half of all hydrocarbon reservoirs are Naturally Fractured Reservoirs (NFRs), in which production forecasting is a complicated function of fluid flow in a fracture-matrix system. Modelling of fluid flow in NFRs is challenging due to formation heterogeneity and anisotropy. Stress sensitivity and depletion effect on already-complex reservoir permeability add to the sophistication. Horiz...
متن کاملModelling of Conventional and Severe Shot Peening Influence on Properties of High Carbon Steel via Artificial Neural Network
Shot peening (SP), as one of the severe plastic deformation (SPD) methods is employed for surface modification of the engineering components by improving the metallurgical and mechanical properties. Furthermore artificial neural network (ANN) has been widely used in different science and engineering problems for predicting and optimizing in the last decade. In the present study, effects of conv...
متن کاملNumerical modelling of induced rip currents by discontinuous submerged breakwaters
Submerged breakwaters are one of the shore protective structures. Any discontinuity in these breakwaters causes changes on current parameters including speed and water surface profile. In this paper, discontinuous submerged breakwaters were modelled to investigate the changes in the wave and flow pattern. To investigate the phenomenon, three models including a shore with constant slope, a shore ...
متن کاملModelling the Micro-physics Underlying Earthquake Nucleation Processes and Rupture
Objectives Modelling microscopic properties of rock allows simulation of non-linear and complex macroscopic behaviour. Rather than specifying a "true" representation of rock at a microscopic scale, models use empirical properties at a mesoscopic scale such that the correct macroscopic behaviour is simulated. The objectives of the session \Modelling the micro-physics underlying earthquake nuclea...
